Radish (Raphanus sativus var. sativus) is an annual or biennial plant that belongs to the cabbage family. It is a variety of radish and (usually) an arable crop. It was known and appreciated in ancient times: Greece, Rome and Egypt. It probably comes from the Mediterranean or the Far East.
