A cup of steaming tea is the best way to warm up on a cloudy evening, after winter fun in the snow or after a walk in the cold. However, the relaxing effect of this infusion is not only based on its warming properties. Tea is also a source of caffeine, a compound that numerous scientific studies have shown is a psychoactive substance. By stimulating the nervous system, it can reduce fatigue and improve concentration. The caffeine content in tea is estimated at 14-65 mg per serving and depends on the type, processing and nature of the raw material.
Scientific publications suggest that cardamom, found in winter tea, may also have relaxing effects. It is even believed to be an antidepressant. Red pepper, with a characteristic herbal-floral aftertaste, can also calm nerves and provide energy.
