Beans are annual plants whose pods we love to eat in season, they come from Central and South America. Grown all over the world, including in Poland, as a vegetable from the group of so-called legumes, green beans are an ingredient in many dishes.
Green beans are one of the healthier vegetables that we can include in our diet. Rich in protein, fiber, vitamins - from groups B, E, A, K and C - and mineral salts - calcium, potassium, phosphorus, iron and magnesium - green beans are divided into two types - green and yellow. Green is characterized by higher levels of beta-carotene and folic acid, while yellow has higher levels of phosphorus and potassium.
Green beans are a very versatile vegetable. Most often it is combined with breadcrumbs, but it also goes well with meat, potatoes, rice, eggs, as an addition to soups and salads.
