Rooibos, or simply rooibos tea, is a drink made by infusing the leaves of a South African-grown bush with the same trait. The name Rooibos comes from the Afrikaans language and can be translated simply as red bush: rooi - red and bos - shrub, but officially this plant was baptized as simple Aspalata. Simple aspalate is not related to the tea bush, so its infusion has completely unusual properties. Rooibos "tea" is characterized by a specific honey taste and sweet aroma. Compared to traditional teas, rooibos contains few tannins, so you won't feel a bitter aftertaste when enjoying its infusion. Rooibos is also caffeine-free and its theine content is so low that it's safe for children and before bedtime. The drink helps digestion and reduces the risk of bloating.
