Sesame seeds are placed in the pods of a tropical plant. They are small, flat, oval grains, about 3 mm in size. The color of the seeds varies: from white when the grain is shelled to cream to beige. Characteristic of oriental cuisine, perfect for salads, soups and desserts. Cold-pressed sesame oil, which is the basis for the production of margarine, is made from sesame seeds.
