Horse chestnut bark - Hippocastani cortex
Use: herb for bathing
The remedy is traditionally used externally as an aid in the treatment of edema, small bruises and limited inflammation of the skin and subcutaneous tissue.
Dosage: For APPLICATION on the skin in the form of a decoction:
1 tablespoon of chopped bark (approx. 4 g) 1.5-2 glasses of lukewarm water, heat to the boil, simmer slowly, cover and strain for 5-10 minutes. Use the warm decoction to prepare compresses on the affected areas.
