HOJICHA ORGANIC GREEN TEA 60 g - MOYA MATCHA
INGREDIENTS
100% Hojicha green tea * (* from controlled organic cultivation)
DESCRIPTION
Hojicha is an exception among Japanese teas and cannot be compared to other green teas in terms of taste. Hojicha comes from leaves harvested in autumn and is roasted at high temperature, giving the leaves a dark brown color. Then it also gets its unique smoky aroma and its sweetish taste with caramel and nutty notes. When roasted, hojicha also loses its caffeine content, making it suitable for drinking before bedtime and drinking by children of pregnant women. The green tea roasting process was invented in Kyoto in the 1920s, and since then hojicha has grown in popularity far beyond Japan.
Drinking hojichy helps regulate the amount of cholesterol and sugar in the body and boosts the immune system. Hojicha, like genmaicha in Japan, is often served with meals. It can be brewed multiple times, although usually 3 brews are optimal. Moya Hojicha comes from a small family and organic farming on the southern island of Kiushu. The production process takes place in Uji, Kyoto Prefecture, where it is also certified and rigorously tested for possible contamination.
