Pickled cucumbers, which are gladly served on the tables in many Polish homes, are nothing more than ordinary ground cucumbers that undergo natural milk fermentation, thanks to which they owe their delicious, sour taste and numerous health-promoting properties. Recommended especially in the autumn and winter season, when low temperatures are felt, immunity is weakened, and fresh fruits and vegetables are not always available. One can be proud of pickled cucumbers, among other things, high content of vitamin C and zinc to support the immune system, to support brain work, memory and magnesium concentration as well as B vitamins with effects on the nervous system. Pickled cucumbers are an indispensable ingredient in many salads and soups ; they are also excellent as a snack and as a complement to evening meals.
