The walnut (Juglans regia L.) is a deciduous tree species from the walnut family. It grows wild in southwest China, the Himalayas, northern Myanmar, southeastern Europe, southwestern, central and eastern Asia. Widespread in Poland and not infrequently grown in the wild.
Walnuts are small fruits encased in a hard brown shell. These unassuming fruits of incredibly majestic trees are characterized by an incredible wealth of vitamins and nutrients, including: thiamine, potassium, calcium, iron, copper, magnesium, phosphorus, zinc, vitamins C and E. Plus the healthiest nuts (scientifically proven) you have a significant amount of protein and fiber.
Walnuts are a delicious snack and a great addition to a dessert. They are suitable as a topping for ice cream and shakes and as an ingredient for cakes and tarts.
