DESCRIPTION
Maranta Reed is a gluten-free, easily digestible and nutritious cornstarch called Arrowroot, derived from plant roots that belong to the botanical family of maranthus native to South America. In a gluten-free diet, it is excellent as a thickener and also as a substitute for gluten flours. Arrowroot is recommended for allergy sufferers, since it can be used in various dishes, it also has a very positive effect on the digestive tract and the proper bacterial flora.
Maranta reed is a good binding agent, it can be used to prepare and bind many dishes: clear soups and sauces, puddings, biscuits, jellies, puddings, ice cream and children's pastries. Arrowroot doesn't have an unpleasant aftertaste, and dishes thickened with arrowroot don't go translucent like dishes thickened with potato starch or cornmeal.

PREPARATION
It is recommended to mix arrowroot with cold liquid and then add the mixture into the hot liquid. The food is only heated until thickened.
For baking you can use 10% of the total amount of flour.
It works at low temperatures and prevents the formation of ice crystals in the frozen food.
