A cultivated plant in Poland. An annual plant very similar to thistles. The milk thistle grows to a height of 1.5 m and a width of about 60 cm. It is characterized by dark green leaves with a white marbled pattern that are about 50 cm long and 25 cm wide. This plant produces light brown to dark brown kernels. Milk thistle is characterized by a high fiber content, which has a positive effect on the digestive system. Milk thistle is a source of protein, an essential part of the diet.
Way Use: Grains should be ground or mashed. Powdered can be added to salads, steamed vegetables, cereals, baked goods. It can also be used as an infusion: add 1 teaspoon of powder to 1 cup of hot water and bring to a slow boil. Cover and cook gently for about 5-10 minutes. Set aside for 15 minutes and then strain.
