DESCRIPTION
Safflower oil (safflower), cold-pressed, unrefined
It is a precious oil obtained by mechanically pressing safflower seeds. The species of this plant was grown in ancient times (Egypt, India) for obtaining seeds and flowers. Oil was extracted from the seeds by mechanical pressing, while the petals were a source of a powerful plant pigment (kartymine). Crocus flowers have also been used as an expectorant, stimulant, and laxative. Safflower oil is a very rich source of EFAs (Essential Unsaturated Fatty Acids). When used in the diet, it has properties similar to sunflower oil.
COMPOSITION:
It contains approximately: 63-79% polyunsaturated fatty acids,
14-24% monounsaturated (omega-9) fat and only 3-10% saturated fat.
It is also rich in vitamin E (about 35 mg / 100 g of the product) and phytosterols.
APPLICATION :
In the kitchen it is used for: salads, sauces and all cold dishes.
It does not require strict dosing.
