Almonds are the kernels of the almond fruit, which are of two types: edible, more commonly grown sweet and poisonous almonds, after purification of toxic substances used to make almond oil, soaps and aromatic essences, bitter almonds.

Almonds are a great snack and a delicious addition to dessert. They also go well with pasta and rice. Finely chopped, they are also suitable as a coating.
