Asparagus (Asparagus L.) is a perennial of the asparagus family. Its origin lies in the areas of the Mediterranean Sea and Asia Minor. Cultivated for at least 2 thousand. For years, asparagus was a delicacy of the ancient Greeks and Romans.
Asparagus is an unusual vegetable with thick, straight stems and small leaves shaped like scales. They come in green, purple, and even pink, and are packed with an incredible amount of nutrients. They are a notable source of vitamin K and mineral salts, among other things.
Asparagus can be boiled, steamed, baked and grilled. They are also suitable for making juice and cream soup.
