The broad bean or vetch (Vicia faba L.) is an edible annual plant of the Fabaceae family. Previously found in the wild, they are now only found as a cultivated plant. Its place of origin is unknown, but the oldest traces pointing to the cultivation of this tasty and healthy legume come from Egypt from about 4 ½ 000. lat.
Like soybeans, field beans are recommended for vegetarians and vegans due to their high protein and fiber content.
