Kamchatka honeysuckle, commonly known as Kamchatka berry, is a variety of blue honeysuckle that belongs to the honeysuckle family. Native to Northeast Asia, it is grown in the temperate zone in many countries around the world, including Poland.
Kamchatka berry, also known as " the fruit of eternal youth " has an extremely high concentration of antioxidants, vitamins and minerals. Kamchatka honeysuckle fruits are rich in phenolic compounds that neutralize the harmful effects of free radicals and help the body fight to maintain health and beauty. The content of vitamins - A, group B, C - and minerals - iron, silicon, magnesium, manganese, phosphorus and copper - make them a real nutritional bomb.
Kamchatka berries are most often used as an addition to desserts. However, nothing stands in the way of eating these extraordinary fruits with a deep, mysterious aroma, raw or pure. They are also suitable as a basis for jam, you can also squeeze their juice, dry or freeze them.
