Kamchatka honeysuckle, commonly known as Kamchatka berry, is a variety of blue honeysuckle belonging to the honeysuckle family. Native to northeast Asia, it is cultivated in the temperate zone in many countries around the world, including Poland.
Kamchatka berry, also known as the " fruit of eternal youth ," boasts an extremely high concentration of antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals. The fruits of Kamchatka honeysuckle are rich in phenolic compounds that neutralize the damaging effects of free radicals and support the body in the fight to maintain health and beauty. Their content of vitamins A, B, and C and minerals such as iron, silicon, magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, and copper make them a true nutritional bomb.
Kamchatka berries are most commonly used as an addition to desserts. However, there's nothing stopping you from eating these extraordinary fruits with their deep, mysterious aroma, raw or on their own. They're also a great base for jam, and you can also squeeze their juice, dry it, or freeze it.
