It is native to Central Asia and Siberia. Brought to Europe in the 16th century thanks to Marco Polo's expeditions, it only appeared in Poland several hundred years later.

Rich, incl. in calcium, iron, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, folic acid, vitamins: A, C, E and K, meat is a low-calorie vegetable with a low glycemic index. Studies have shown that, in addition to valuable nutrients, rhubarb can have antioxidant, anti-allergic and cardiovascular properties.
