DESCRIPTION

Sodium chloride is a well-known pure table salt. It is used in the glass industry, in tanning and as a preservative. The sodium salt of hydrochloric acid is a raw material for the production of hydrochloric acid, sodium, chlorine, sodium hydroxide and sodium carbonate, i.e. soda. It can also be used to melt ice and snow on roads and sidewalks as the solution with water has a very low freezing point. In chemical laboratories, sodium chloride is used in spectroscopy and refrigeration. Together with ice, it forms a cooling mixture - the temperature of this solution can reach -21.5 °C.
