DESCRIPTION
Tabebuia Avellanedae is an evergreen tropical tree up to 30 meters tall, growing in the mountains of South and Central America (up to 1500 meters above sea level) with pink spherical inflorescences. Pau d'Arco (Tabebuia Avellanedae) is also known as La Pacho (Argentina, Paraguay) and Ipe Roxo, Morado (Brazil).
For the extraction of plant raw materials, the inner layer of the bark is mainly used, in which there is one of the active substances - lapachol. All active ingredients of this plant are not yet fully understood. The South American Indians called the Tajy tree, which means "to have strength and power."
Pau d'Arco is used for colds because it strengthens the body's defenses.
